MY STORY

I AM JUJU, I AM FROM MYANMAR. I AM STUDYING ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. I AM MAJORING BFA IN FASHION DESIGN AND SPECIALIZE IN WOMENSWEAR. I LOVE THE REPURPOSED CREATIVE PLATFORM IN FASHION. IT'S A WAY OF TO KEEP WITH TRENDS OF FASHION WITHOUT WASTING MORE. SUSTAINABLE IS THE FUTURE IN FASHION. AND I ALSO THINK OF MYSELF AS A VERY VERSATILE/OPEN DESIGNER.

PUPPETS Fall (2021)

For this project I wanted do something from my culture something personal. I am always fond of Burmese puppets. While I was in middle of the project the military coup happened and as a Burmese citizen I felt like a puppet myself. Military controlling as like a puppets. Even wearing black even became a crime, because people who protest mainly wear black. We Burmese citizens are all puppets under the military.

HEIRLOOM

Heirloom was inspired by Russian Revolution. I was drawn by the military uniform and I designed clean, modern, sophisticated clothing that balance between feminine and masculine.

SPONTANEOUS THOUGHTS

As a serial over-thinker, this is my cathartic, impulsive experiment. My collection, Spontaneous Thoughts, was influenced by Erwin Wurm's “One Minute Sculptures”. I was motivated to recreate this famous experiment. He used the shortest path in creating, fast, humorous expression and perplexingly shaped sculpture.
This collection celebrates spontaneous movements with flexible fabrics. I put a pile of stretchable materials such as jerseys, knit sweaters and leggings which would cooperate with the movement of my body.

THE NET

The project is my one of my favorite one. I used CLO3D to bring my design to life. It helps save a lot of fabrics and papers. This design are inspired by fisherman nets and mood of the sea. Normally sea is represented as a happy place, but for fisherman's life it's a scary and risk place. The colors are very pale and dark.

UNDERRATED

This is collection is inspired by Francis Bacon. The twisted mind, abstract and all things about him inspired me. He express himself through his artworks. I express myself thought my design. As a future design I care a lot about sustainability so I decided to make this a repurposed collection.
